Charles Hadcock in Jubilee Park Canary Wharf

Article Text:Last chance to see two striking exhibitions from leading artists Charles Hadcock and Merete Rasmussen.

Exhibiting simultaneously at Canary Wharf until 20 May, these two artists are united in their regard for surface and form, both taking inspiration from mathematics and from nature.

Charles Hadcock’s New and Revisited Sculptures, showing in the picturesque Jubilee Park, are a seemingly unlikely combination of engineering, geology, music and poetry, some appearing to defy gravity as their colossal forms barely touch the ground. Meanwhile Merete Rasmussen’s Sculptural Ceramics in the tranquil Lobby of One Canada Square draw on the concept of the Mobius strip, her fascinating three dimensional sculptures formed from a single, twisting and sinuous surface.
