Hexad (n) a group or set of six (<LL hexas, hexadis & <Gk hexas, hexados)

Bio: each segment, down to the tiniest hexad of cilia, is practically identical in shape”
The Hexad collection is a group of sculpture created by splitting geometrical solids into six common elements rotated around  an imaginary body diagonal axis.

The interior structure of each element is hollowed out to describe a different geometrical  shape (sphere within a cube, cube within a sphere) or to leave a void amongst the supporting arms of the external shape.

Moving around the sculpture the views of the relationships between its six elemental arms  travel through open views through the structure followed by dense clusters of structural arms some overarching another, no viewpoint shows  the same inner structure as another.

The textured surface of the exterior describes a landscape of cast rocks revealing layers of geology. The smooth engineered interior is in striking contrast to the natural world of the exterior.
